Intimate Front Yard Wedding Ceremony at Historic Home in Seaview, Washington
This wedding blew my mind, literally. As a young person I was always mesmerized by vintage things and spaces. This wedding for me was like walking into a fairy tale. The bride, Kate, worked so hard to make her vision come to life and it truly paid off. The groom, Jasiu, worked hard physically by making their ceremony arch, the groomsmen’s bow ties and the wedding guest favors. The favors were magnets with burnt engravings of their matching tattoos (which repersents a lot of their time spent together in the Groom’s cabin), the house they got married in and other symbols of their wedding day and love story. Every detail of this wedding was an expression of their love and who they are. Their family and friends were truly a special touch to the day as well. The pair got ready at different historic homes on the same street with their bridal party. They did a first look before the ceremony so they could share a private moment together before photos and be able to spend time together with their closest friends and family before the ceremony started. The ceremony was an emotional one. As you can see in the picture above the two honored both of their late fathers at the ceremony and you could tell these two had been with each other already through highs and lows in life. After the ceremony both of their mother’s blessed them with bread and salt, a Polish tradition after a wedding to bring abundance of joy to the couple’s marriage. Then the guests and couple shared cocktails and Polish snacks….
Adrift Hotel Wedding Reception
Then it was off to the reception! Upon the bride and groom’s request we stopped to take portraits under the Seaview sign in town. As bikers and people in cars passed by congratulating the couple it gave these two a chance to share the moment of just getting married together before heading back to the party. They held their reception at the Adrift Hotel in Long Beach, Washington. The space was simply decorated and had great 360 ocean views. After everyone mingled dinner was served and it was one of the most yummy wedding meals I have ever had! Toast were to following coming from the Bride’s sister, the best man, the groom’s aunt and mother. The groom’s family also sang a couple of Polish songs, traditions after a wedding in celebration. There was so much joy in the room, many stories accounting for how beautiful and caring of a bond these two have for each other and how both of their fathers would be so proud and happy for them. After a wedding dress change into an epic BHLDN bridal romper we headed to the beach for some fun bridal portraits. The night was cloudy and cool, in true Pacific Northwest fashion. We had so much fun with their portraits, it truly felt like we were in a Washington version of The Notebook. The rest of the event was filled with some pretty awesome dance moves from the couple, guests and kids!!! They ended their wedding night with a bonfire on the beach, one of the best things about coastal Washington weddings ;)
I would love to be considered as your photographer for your Washington wedding or elopement!
I second shot this wedding with: Rachel Lucus
As luck would have it Rachel and I got in touch with each other through a Facebook group while I was working this summer in Washington. I am so glad that we got the chance to meet and work together! She knew me from my listing on Wandering Weddings! We enjoyed hanging out after the wedding as images downloaded chatting about our travels, photography businesses and reminiscing what a special day it was that we just got to capture.
Mr and Mrs shared a secret elopement at a Washington Waterfall! They traveled somewhere new together to join in marriage in nature in the most relaxed and intimate way.
