Lost Dutchman State Park Engagement Session

Meet Adam and Kira! These two Michigan natives are set to wed in Chandler, Arizona next year. We met at Lost Dutchman State Park for their engagement session. They picked this location for their engagement photos because they felt like it would show off the desert landscape best. Driving down to the area from Sedona that day it was a hazy desert day, but like magic the clouds parted and had beautiful blue skies and an epic sunset to end their session. At the end of their session we all stayed and chatted until the sun was gone. Admiring the colors and clouds, agreeing that Arizona will forever have the best sunsets. These two they have seen plenty all over the world together! Some of their favorite memories together are snorkeling in Hawaii, Kayaking in San Diego, eating Gelato in Italy and many more travels. Their top travel memory may be when Adam proposed to Kira in Paris, France. Also, where Kira’s mom lives, so that was for sure a very special memorable trip together. I love hearing all the places they want to explore and travel together. Not having been in Arizona too long yet I loved sharing some of my favorite, must do weekend trips in Arizona with them!
Though their engagement session was not a hiking session and they are having a more traditional wedding we treated their session like an elopement so they could share that connected experience together. It was a well spent afternoon bonding, enjoying the view, reminiscing about their relationship thus far and sharing laughs. Kira has the most affectionate laugh and I love the way Adam smiles at her. I can not wait for these two to get married, it is going to be beautiful and sentimental. I imagine there will also be lots of dancing, as these two dance almost every night together in the kitchen! Almost everyone for their wedding will be flying in from all over the states and few outside of the state which I think makes everything so much more fun. As someone who has moved a lot, I can relate to the excitement of all your friends and family getting to see the new place you call home and sharing with them some of the epic things to do in Arizona.

Do you want to have your engagement photos or elope at Lost Dutchman State Park?
Lost Dutchman is so beautiful! It is for sure a staple of the west and even more so of Arizona. With great camping spots, cabins, insane trails and ranger events it is a great place to be. You can hold a small traditional wedding here, elope or have your engagements. The park does require a permit for sessions and there is an application process for weddings. There are also specific spots the rangers have selected for where you can tie the knot in the park, but dont worry the views are epic. It is only about 45 minutes outside of Phoenix, making it easily accessible. If this is something you are considering I would love to help you plan and be there to capture your love story!
